Paradox will publish Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity
Paradox Interactive announced today that it will be publishing Obsidian Entertainment's Kickstarted RPG, Pillars of Eternity.
The unexpected partnership means Obsidian will focus on actually making the game, which CEO Feargus Urquhart admits is the studio's strong point. Paradox reassured backers that their involvement would not interfere with the quality of the game or its original promises.
"It's Obsidian's project. They retain creative control, it's their IP," said Paradox CEO, Fred Wester. "We are going to focus on marketing, distribution and Kickstarter fulfillment. Someone has to send out these T-shirts."
Wester also expressed the possibility that the partnership would extend beyond this project.
Pillars of Eternity is due for PC, Linux and Mac in late 2014.
