Ace Combat: Assault Horizon ditches GFWL in favour of Steamworks
Namco Bandai has announced that it will be patching Ace Combat: Assault Horizon on PC to switch the game from GFWL to Steamworks, ahead of the imminent closure of the Games for Windows Live service.
The publisher confirmed the move in an email sent to VG247, and added that the patch will be available today allowing you to keep your achievements and saves in the transition. Starting April 1, the new Steamworks version will be the default version of the game, and you will not be able to keep your saves from the old version after that date.
The publisher has also posted a handy guide over on the Steam forums, explaining what you'll need to do to patch the game and keep your saves. The guide also covers the different ways you could've acquired the game through.
Ace Combat is latest game to make the jump from GFWL to Steamworks, other games include Dirt 3, Street Fighter IV, Batman: Arkham City and many more. The Games for Windows Live service is to close this July.
