PS4 video details user interface and new PS Store
PlayStation 4 is now available in North America, but for those of us still waiting to get out sticky paws on the big black box, here's a video showing off the new user interface.
VG247 got a good look at the new interface at an event in Sydney today. It's divided into three main regions, arranged as long, scrolling rows. The top row is devoted to functions - menus, notifications, settings and so on. The main row in the middle is the content centre, and it's here you'll find all your apps, games and entertainment options. The third row, along the bottom, populates with content from publishers, developers, the web and your social networks.
One of the key takeaways of the presentation was how quickly the new PS Store works; even with lag from the US, it was much, much snappier than the PS3's version. That's unlikely to be the case tonight, of course, as all the brand new PS4 owners get their boxes home and flood the servers.
The PS4 arrives in Europe and further selected territories on November 29.
Thanks, PlayStation Blog.
