Euro Truck Simulator 2 now supports the Oculus Rift

The enigmatically popular Euro Truck Simulator 2 has received Oculus Rift support in its beta version, developer SCS Software has announced. But don't get too excited, the developer has warned it's only for European truckers with "a really fast GPU and CPU".

Additionally, the game only supports the Rift in Direct 3D mode, which means you won't be enjoying the European immersion on anything other than Windows just now. Additionally, most menus have not been converted into 3D and the Rift's head tracking only works in the game's cockpit view, so for all of you who have dreamed of rotating around your truck with your head, you'll have to keep the torch lit a while longer.

There is also currently no "neck simulation". Additionally, you'll have to hit F12 to reset your orientation every time you enter your truck, which just happens to overlap with Steam's default screenshot key, so you can remember how out of whack your orientation was forever.

If you fancy enabling the mode, subscribe to the game's beta updates on Steam and then launch it with the "-oculus" launch parameter.

Thanks, Polygon.
