MLG Championship in Columbus to feature Dota 2, $50K prize pool

The Major League Gaming Championship in Columbus, Ohio this November will feature Dota 2 teams competing live in a three day event for a $50,000 prize pool. The Championship runs November 22-24 and those who wish to attend the event can now purchase VIP and General Admission passes through the MLG Store.

Dota 2 will also be featured at the upcoming MLG Fall Invitational taking place October 18 at Full Sail University. Leading up to the competition, fans can watch NA Dota 2 League matches on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm ET and Sunday’s at 4pm ET at the official MLG website.

The Dota 2 Championship in Columbus will include teams such as The Alliance, Na’vi, Fnatic, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and more competing in Round Robin Play followed by a Single Elimination Championship Bracket. Additional games and details are to be announced soon.

The Competition: Tournament Details

Dota 2 - $50,000 Prize Pool – 1st Place = $25,000: At least eight of the world’s best teams will compete in Round Robin Play with the top four teams advancing to a single-elimination championship bracket for a chance at $50,000 in prizes.

Teams include:

· NA – MLG Fall Invitational Winner (TBD). Watch the MLG Fall Invitational on Friday, October 18 to see who advances.

· NA – Evil Geniuses

· NA – Team Liquid

· EU – The Alliance - first place team from The International 3

· EU – Na’vi (Natus Vincere) – second place team from The International 3

· EU - Fnatic

· NA - Invite-Only Online Qualifier Winner (TBD) – Teams can register now for the Dota 2 Open Online Qualifier taking place from September 28 – October 16. The top eight teams along with the teams finishing 2nd-8th in the NA Fall Dota 2 League will advance to compete in the invite-only qualifier from October 21 – November 6 for this spot at the Championship in Columbus.
