Warframe launching as timed PS4 exclusive at console's launch, Nexus app adds second-screen play
Warframe developer Digital Extremes has announced that the console edition of its free-to-play shooter will launch on PS4 first, and re-iterated that it's a day-one release.
In a press release sent to VG247, the studio confirmed that PS4 will get the game exclusively for three months starting November 15 in North America and November 29 across Europe.
Digital Extremes creative director Steve Sinclair “With how the industry is evolving, this really is the player generation. Games are reaching players hands in so many different ways now and Sony gets it, which is why we are bringing Warframe exclusively to the PS4 first. There’s no reason not to download Warframe on day one if you’re an action game lover – it’s free.”
The title will also benefit from second screen play via the Warframe Nexus app for iOS and Android. It will offer players new tasks and up-to-date game information such as crafting inventories, critical mission alerts and the option to schedule co-op sessions with your friends. it's out at launch.
