The Witcher 3 may conclude Geralt's story, but he could return in the future
While CD Projekt RED has said more than once that The Witcher 3 is the end of Geralt's tale in the series, he may not be hanging up his sword just yet.
Speaking with Polygon at E3, CDP said it plans to continue working with the universe created by novelist Andrzej Sapkowski, which is vast with plenty of stories to tell.
"With the third installment, we should wrap it up and conclude a lot of threads," CEO Marcin Iwinski said. "We are not killing the world and walking away from it, but we will definitely want to make this game the finale in a big way."
The game's executive producer John Mamais added that our favorite, womanizing monster hunter, Geralt of Riva, could even reappear in the future - but in a smaller role.
"We might even include Geralt in later games potentially," Mamais said. "We just need to talk about it and figure out what we're going to do next."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for a 2014 release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and the firm will once again do its best to make sure extra content is free.
