Killzone: Shadow Fall announced for PS4
Killzone: Shadowfall has been announced for PS4 by Guerilla Games, and was shown live at Sony's PlayStation meeting reveal event.
The game was played live, as witnessed by our US news editor Steph - you can watch the entire demonstration here.
It began with the player-character being ferried across a colourful sprawling city full of skyscrapers and flying cars. After landing on the rooftop, the player passed through security clearance and made his way through some roof gardens, as leaves fell from trees, twirling and moving dynamically.
Upon reaching a building, a Helgan bomb erupted from the building, killing several civilians and knocking the character clear. Panic followed, as guard helped wounded civilians among the rubble and flames. A Helgan assassins emerged from the madness and executed a guard and a wounded pedestrian. Just before he shoots the player, he stabs the assassin through the neck.
Gameplay then began, and it seemed much faster and slicker than previous Killzone titles, with more colour and pace than before. There was a cover system, multiple weapons, incredible particle effects and much, much more.
Screens are available below, but you owe it to yourself to check out the gameplay footage. This is looking insanely polished so far.
