Far Cry 3 to add outpost respawns, "Master" difficulty
Ubisoft Montreal has outlined a number of new features headed to Far Cry 3 in upcoming patches, including the much-requested option to reset outposts.
In a post on the Ubisoft forums, the publisher said it will add a menu option to reset all outposts. The option will become available once the game has been completed and all outposts taken. Any incomplete sidequests attached to reset outposts will be unavailable until the player takes the outpost again.
A new difficulty setting, Master, will become available in single-player, offering "more aggressive wildlife, tougher pirates, and more deadly privateers". it's not clear whether the option will be available immediately or require a playthrough on the Warrior setting.
On the multiplayer side, a feedback menu will be added, so that after a match, players can tell Ubisoft what they thought of a particular map.
User-created maps will soon have the option to release in "beta" mode, allowing users who have volunteered to beta test the chance to check it out. This should help creators get feedback on maps despite the ever-increasing number of custom creations out there, and a new spectator mode means you can watch over your creation in action. If you like what you see when playing a custom map, you'll be able to search by author.
Finally, the idle kick timer will be made optional on custom matches, and the skip map voting feature will be extended.
No dates on any of these features as yet.
