Tecmo Koei posts healthy Q3 financials, net profit up 291.7%
Tecmo Koei has released its third-quarter financial report. The Japanese company is back in profit with figures up across almost the entire board.
GI.biz reports that for the three-months ended December 31st 2012, Tecmo Koei's financials signify an about-face for the company, which has returned to profit following a boost in its Games Software division, which has the lion's share of sales.
The division's success resulted in a 9.8% sales increase year-on-year, equating to ¥14.6 billion. The division's operating income went 83.6% to ¥2.5 billion, signifying a real push.
However, the biggest win for the period was a 291.7% increase in net profits, which ended at ¥2.6 billion, while revenue was up 6.5 % at ¥22.2 billion.
Tecmo Koei's Online and Mobile department was the only facet of the business to see a dip, with a 10% drop in sales, ending on ¥3.8 billion for the quarter. Operating income for the department fell by 44.2% to ¥418 million.
