Infinity Blade: Dungeons to miss 2012 release
Infinity Blade: Dungeons has been pushed back from an expected release later this year.
Epic's Wes Phillips told AllThingsD that the project has grown too large to meet a 2012 ship date.
"Ever since the talented team at Impossible Studios got their hands on Infinity Blade: Dungeons, they’ve been busy adding their great ideas to the game. There was also the matter of getting the Impossible Studios team up and running with desks, chairs, staplers and computers," he said.
"The logistics of a new studio and implementing all these great ideas required a little extra time, so Infinity Blade: Dungeons will hit iOS in 2013.”
Infinity Blade: Dungeons was announced alongside the iPad 2 and was expected to release alongside a new iDevice sometime this year - likely the upcoming iPad Mini. Not originally conceived as an Infinity Blade game, it was folded into Chair Entertainment's franchise when Epic became enthusiastic about the project. It was later handed over to Impossible Studios, a new Epic-owned team in Baltimore. A significant number of its staff members hail from Big Huge Games and 38 Studios, which went dramatically bust earlier in the year.
Thanks, IGN.
