Black Mesa Source gameplay footage turns up everywhere

Half-Life mod Black Mesa Source has sprung not one but two leaks, in a glorious rain of gameplay footage.

The first video was apparently leaked to fansite ValveTime, which describes the footage as from a "fairly old" build of the On A Rail section.

A member of the mod team told the site that it had no comment to make beyond an acknowledgement of the leak and a mention that the team knows of the source.

Meanwhile, Lambda Generation also turned up a bit of allegedly leaked footage, this time of Surface Tension; again, it's described as an outdated build.

LG had a few helpful notes regarding both sets of footage. The ironsight feature is apparently just the .357 Magnum revolver’s zoom view, and the music featured in both videos was added by the poster, rather than being part of the mod itself.

Black Mesa Source is a complete rebuuild of the original Half-Life on the latest public version of Valve's Source engine, as opposed to the modified Quake engine the 1998 release was built on. The mod team has been plugging away at the conversion for over eight years now, and recently promised to break a long silence.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! The Great Oz has spoken," The project's official Facebook page commented on the leaks.
