Irrational "still focusing on" BioShock movie, "but it hasn't consumed us so much"

Ken Levine has said he and is team are "still focused" on getting the BioShock movie made, but as he has said previously, it's not a top priority.

Speaking with Edge, Levine said the backers of the film are just waiting for "the stars" to align.

"The thing with Gore [Verbinski] didn't work out, but there's no such thing as 'it's finished' when it comes to making a movie out of something," he said. "It's always about the stars aligning. We're still focusing on it, but it hasn't consumed us so much.

"Right now, we're choosing our battles and focussing on making BioShock: Infinite."

Levine has said the same thing previously in November, when he told IndustryGamers there was "no burning [desire] to have a movie made just to get it made."

A BioShock movie has been in the pipeline since 2008, and Gore Verbinski was brought on to direct. Verbinski left the project and was replaced by 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadilo.

In March, it was reported that Fresnadilo had left the project, and word on a new director has yet to surface.
