GameSpy Technology tools will be available to Vita developers in April
GameSpy Technology has signed a deal with Sony's tools and middleware licence program which would allow the firm to bring its API tools to Vita, and the first title to receive the online services is Mortal Kombat.
According to Develop, the "application programming interface aims to allow developers to bring extra online functionality to their games." These online feature include data tracking, multiplayer matchmaking, cross-platform gameplay, and online leaderboards.
“GameSpy Technology is committed to giving game developers the tools they need to bring their games to multiple platforms with providing players with same high quality online experience,” said the firm's senior director Drew Curby. “Mortal Kombat Vita is a perfect example of how we can work with a talented developer to bring their game from one platform to the next.”
The tools are already available for PC, PS3, iOS and Android.
Vita developers will be able to start using the tools in April.
