Mass Effect 3 space disc lands in a tree too tall to climb
It was bound to happen: one of the Mass Effect 3 space discs landed in a tree upon descending from space after being launched into the stratosphere this week. Surely, there's also one stuck on a water tower somewhere, or dropped into a mountain lion's den - but we've not heard of such a thing, yet.
Our overactive imagination aside, the capsule landed 150 feet up in a tree north of Santa Cruz, and the 10 folks who arrived at the spot using a GPS tracker on the game’s official website had to get creative in order to get the prize out of the redwood.
Since the weather balloon was too high up in the tree to climb, the fans used a “baseball attached to rope.” When that didn't work, other methods such as slingshots were deployed in order to get it down.
More Space Edition launches start today in Las Vegas, and since that area is flat as Keira Knightley a flapjack, there should not be too much of an issue retrieving it.
Mass Effect 3 is out in March.
Thanks, GameFront.
