Nintendo triumphs in French anti-piracy suit

A French court has ruled in favour of Nintendo in its ongoing legal battle against the sale of flash cards for the DS.
The Paris Court of Appeals declared six French companies guilty of the "importation, sale and distribution of game copier devices", overturning a 2009 decision.
The guilty parties have been hit with a cumulative total of €460,000 in criminal fines, €4.8 million in damages, and suspended prison sentences.
France was one of the few Western European territories to allow sale of the devices after Nintendo began a worldwide effort to combat their sale. Flash or R4-type cards enable pirated and custom software to be played on the DS,
