Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney looks at localisation

This started out as just letting you know there are some awesome new screenshots for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney floating about the internets - and then we discovered that the images are accompanied by some pretty strong suggestions that the game will venture out beyond Japan.

Of course, Level 5 - co-developer of the series - was absent from this year's Tokyo Game Show, but Capcom was there in spades, handing out "titillating" pieces of paper to passersby.

Gamesradar got their hands on one of them, discovering it to be an English-language press release for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, including among some sparse details that "English names are TBD".

The game is also officially referred to for the first time by its English-language name, which is an even bigger sign that something awesome this way comes.

We've also had the game's voice cast announced - Yo Oizumi and Maki Horikita will be reprising their usual roles as Layton and Luke, while Hiroki Narimiya and Mirei Kiritani are playing Phoenix and Maya. If those names sound familiar, Narimiya and Kiritani play exactly those roles in the upcoming live-action Ace Attorney film adaptation.

Hopefully we'll hear more about the game (and the movie, for that matter) at the Level 5 World Event in Tokyo on October 15-16, but in the meantime, head to Famitsu for some first-look screens.
