McCaig: Respawn's first game not arriving until 2015

Respawn concept artist Iain McCaig has said at Develop that the studio's first game won't release until at least 2015. 2015.

He made the bombshell at a keynote at the event in Brighton.

"Thanks to the internet, you can take things and use them as you want, no matter what the law says about it. I think this means there will be a whole new way of using and sharing things," said McCaig.

"I’m having the most fun working with Respawn Entertainment right now, and I hate that I can’t show you guys what I’m doing there until 2015."

This is only after the studio's website had shown what appeared to be a blurred image of concept art from the game, which suggested it was further along in development.

Respawn was founded by ex-Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West after the pair were fired by Activision. The developer's first game will be published by EA Partners, and is said to be a sci-fi shooter affair.

Thanks, Develop.
