Epic: Gears of War dev team not working with Kinect
Gears of War gameplay boss Lee Perry's told EG that the team working on the series is currently not working with Kinect, although admits there is "interest" towards it.
"There's definitely interest in terms of looking at [motion controls] in terms of what is a fit for us," he told the site in Los Angeles.
"Personally I don't think I've seen any one thing that's been like 'that's what we need to make an amazing Gears IP'. I think there's a lot of potential in a lot of different systems. There's a lot of stuff to explore but we haven't nailed anything down."
Perry added: "I don't think as a studio we'd ever force anything out there that we didn't feel actually did the world true, but that's not to say that any of the things out there might not make for a great project, it's just not what we're doing right now."
It follows speculation from last year when it was rumoured that Epic was working on a Gears of War title for Kinect. A VGAs announce seemed to be on the cards, but was canned hours before the show.
Gears of War 3 launches on September 20 worldwide for Xbox 360.
