PlayStation Move hits 8.8 million sales
Sony announced last night during its E3 press conference that PlayStation Move sales has now hit 8.8 million sales.
"There's no question PlayStation Move brings something unique to the table for everyone," said SCEA boss Jack Tretton. "The PlayStation Move catalogue is unmatched."
Last night, Move played a considerable chunk of Sony's show, showing 2K's NBA 2K12 on stage with LA Lakers' Kobe Bryant, as well as well as Zindagi Games' Medieval Heroes.
On top of that, despite admitting being skeptical of it at first, Irrational boss Ken Levine appeared on stage to confirm Move support for the PS3 version of BioShock Infinite.
Dust 514, CCP's FPS that connects with its flagship MMO EVE Online, will also use the motion controller.
Sony also announced a $150 Sharpshooter bundle for Resistance 3, which will include a copy of the Insomniac shooter, a Sharpshooter itself, a PlayStation Move controller and a PlayStation Eye camera.
The sales of Move, while no doubt strong and impressive, are still 1.2 million off the last-reported sales figure for Kinect, which was at 10 million in March.
Thanks, GI.
