Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection announced for summer
Warner Bros. has officially announced the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for PC, PSN, and Xbox Live after being rumored for what seems like ages.
The collection will include the arcade trilogy Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and will be available digitally on the aforementioned formats.
“We are very excited to finally have the first three Mortal Kombat games available in one download package for long-time and new fans to play,” said series creator Ed Boon in the press release.
“With the release of our 2011 Mortal Kombat, and its return to 2D game play, players have been asking for these classic titles and we are happy to deliver them.”
The collection was developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm studios, and will allow players to experience the game in the "original arcade state," and will feature online play, leaderboards, Achievements and Trophies.
To be released this summer, the collection will run you $9.99/800 MSP.
Gamestop is also getting in on the action by carrying an exclusive limited run of a new Mortal Kombat Klassic Fight Sticks which were manufactured by Performance Designed Products.
These will be bundled with a code to download Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for both PS3 and Xbox 360. The sticks are available now for pre-order, will be released on August 31, and will run you $129.99
