NCSoft celebrates Lineage, City of Heroes and Guild Wars anniversaries

NCSoft's sent out word that Lineage, City of Heroes and Guild Wars are all celebrating their anniversaries today, with festivals, competitions, updates and new expansions.

For Lineage II, with the series as a whole celebrating its seventh birthday, it will see a new new expansion in the form of The Goddess of Destruction, promising it'll bring a "sweeping change to the series that revolutionises core gameplay and offers vastly improved content throughout the game."

Also promised for expansion is that a new set of skills will become available to you after the 4th class transfer, 30 new hunting grounds, 60 raid bosses and more than 400 new weapons and pieces.

Goddess of Destruction will be available as a free update to existing players as well as be available in digital and boxed SKU form. No date was confirmed.

City of Heroes, meanwhile, celebrates its seventh anniversary, and has seen 40 million heroes and villains created in that time. To celebrate, it will feature special anniversary offers, opportunities and then some, including an reactivation week, where "all accounts in good standing are activated for free," begins next Tuesday and continues until May 10.

Guild Wars celebrates its sixth anniversary ahead of the impending release of its sequel later this year. Starting today up until May 6, users can celebrate in a variety of contests, races, games and more. In addition, it'll release a anniversary update which will include:

  • High Resolution Textures in Town
  • Hard Mode Quests
  • Mutual Friends List
  • Birthday Tonics
