Super Street Fighter IV 3DS sells 1m units worldwide
Ryu, Ken and co. land a thumping victory to become the first past the 1 million units post for Nintendo's new handheld.
If you'd wagered that SSFIV would become the first 3DS title to sell 1 million units, you'd be absolutely right. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Capcom's latest iteration of its long-running Street Fighter series is currently sitting pretty with a respectable Metacritic score of 85, and it appears that any concerns the title would have to be over-simplified to fit on to Nintendo's new hardware have been largely unfounded.
A Capcom press release trumpeting the joyous news stated:
"In capturing both new fans and longtime fans of the series, we were able to reach the one million unit mark for this title."
If you're wondering how this 1 million figure contributes to the sales of the Street Fighter series as a whole, the press release has the answer for you: "As of April 12 2011, the series as a whole has shipped over 31 million units on home consoles worldwide."
Thanks, Go Nintendo.
