Hearts of Iron III: For the Motherland expansion detailed
Forget all this twitchy science fiction stuff; Hearts of Iron III is where the grand strategy's at. Paradox Interactive have released a developer diary for the staggeringly open-ended WWII title's second expansion, For the Motherland, highlighting the new partisan warfare system, improved politics, and resource usurpation.
Designer Chris King described the new expansion as adding "flavour" to the game; for example, the new partisan system allows players to create or support resistance factions in their own or rival nations.
Other additions include war goals and seizable resources, while the internal politics system and theatre interface have been given a good polishing.
Just in case guiding a couple of hundred nations through one of the most tumultuous periods of history on both the micro and macro level isn't enough, a battle scenario system has ben added, full of mini-campaigns.
