Stacking to include "Hijinx" mode, all sorts of bodily functions
Sony has posted a video over on the US PS Blog of Double Fine's project lead for Stacking pointing out the visual details of the game.
Lee Petty also explains why the studio decided to go with a doll-playing adventure game: "We tried to condense the adventure game experience, so the dolls themselves are the characters, your inventory, and your abilities. You know that any given problem is going to be solved with dolls."
These dolls will also be able to punch, seduce, and stack into other dolls in order to get the job done.
There's also a "Hijinx" mode to Stacking, which allows you to play without adhering to the game's script and be rewarded for using various character abilities attributed to each doll. This even menas punching, slapping, and apparently burping and other sorts of, er um, burping.
"What we found was that a lot of people enjoy slapping," said Petty, "so the Hyjinx provide some structure to that. Bodily functions are a running gag in this game. We have all sorts of them.”
It sounds like a rather neat digital title, and you can expect to play it come February 8 on PSN and XBL.
