Xbox 360 breaks 50 million, 30 million now on XBL

During its CES keynote tonight, Microsoft announced that its X-themed, thankfully-not-X-shaped, console has shipped 50 million units worldwide.

Xbox Live, meanwhile, currently sits at 30 million registered users. That's a healthy 5 million jump from last November, when Microsoft pegged the number at 25 million.

Microsoft said earlier in the presentation that Kinect sales stand at 8 million units after 60 days at retail.
