FFXIV PS3 port development done
Square has confirmed in this week's issue of Famitsu the process of porting Final Fantasy XIV from PC to PS3 is now done.
The MMO port job is actually playable on the console right now.
Square also says to the magazine FFXIV PS3 will run on the same servers that run the PC version.
Other then a few noticable differences in texture stuff, it'll run exactly the same as it does on PC.
FFXIV hasn't gotten off to the best start on PC, though. It's been totally lambasted by critics and has been given a 51 on Meta.
Square’s senior vice president of software development, Hiromichi Tanaka, said previously gamers had a “high expectation” for the game and the firm was working hard to ensure it ends up being all it was expected to be.
At gamescom, Tanaka told VG247 the reason the PS3 version was delayed was because of memory issues.
Yesterday, Square said it had extended the free trial period by a further 30 days.
FFXIV PS3 releases in March.
Thanks, Andriasang.
