IO Interactive confirms unspecified amount of layoffs
IO Interactive's confirmed it has laid off staff at the studio, as previously reported at the weekend.
But general manager of the Danish developer Niels Jørgensen didn't give away a specific number in a statement to Develop.
"I can confirm that we have made some internal changes at IO Interactive which has regrettably resulted in the loss of some jobs," he said.
"This is a natural part of any studio's existence when you ramp-up and ramp-down on projects to ensure you have the right level of resource and expertise within the studio. We genuinely wish those who have been affected by this, the best of luck for the future."
It was also mentioned on Saturday a project at IOI was also canceled. It's thought, according to Computerworld.dk, that the project was an exclusive for Microsoft via Square Enix (thanks, Kasper F. Nielsen).
The cuts aren't the first to the studio this year: it dropped 35 staff back in March. The same number was quoted again for the latest round of cuts at the weekend.
IO made Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for an August release on PS3, 360 and PC.
